Prior to joining the firm, she served as a Study Director at MPI Research in Mattawan, Michigan, and Southern Research Institute (SRI) in Birmingham, Alabama. Before that, she was a lab supervisor at SRI. “With all the demand out there for high-quality, low-cost preclinical research services, we have a lot on our plate, like expanding our services and globalizing our reach,” Gong said. “And having Dr. Tian on board is going to be a big help to us in managing all that,” he said. Dr. Tian said she feels she got on board at the right time. “It was clear from our level of activity at the SOT meeting [the Annual Society of Toxicology Meeting and ToxExpo 2009 in Baltimore earlier this month] that JOINN’s services are in demand and that we’re well positioned to form new partnerships with drug developers and researchers in Europe and the Americas.” JOINN is considering hiring yet another Associate Director for its U.S. office, Gong said. A new hire would bring the U.S. office to four persons, doubling the office’s population since it opened in October of last year.
